Oh, boy! Prepare yourself for the story on how this came be because it was a headache to say the least, I started looking for inspiration in other forms of media that weren't movies or the Create mod. I looked to other video games like Fallout and for this model specifically: Ark: Survival Evolved. Now by itself, Ark doesn't have any steampunk elements or weapons. However, mods do. I found a mod that gives Ark steampunk weapons and tools along with other utilities. Based on screenshots I got some good inspiration for the model, specifically the drill from this screenshot... Steampunk Drill

I loved the style and aesthetic and thought I would recreate it. After trial and error, I ended up something that resembled the drill in the game, but I wasn't satisfied. It didn't feel like Minecraft, nor did it look like something that would belong in Minecraft. I went back to researching and that's when I honestly gave up. I couldn't find anything that I liked, during this time I got a request for an Origin that was based on an armadillo. I looked online to see what they were because I was curious, then I saw this photo of its skeleton curled into a ball and that's when I got an idea: "what if I encased the hand?" Three Banded Armadillo Skeleton I started looking for some inspiration and I stumbled upon this obscure figure but if you look at the drill hand, that's what I was going off. Driller Mech Suit I wanted it to look like it was part of the hand or at least encasing it in such a way that it would look heavy but portable. I picked a color palette that would fit the other steampunk items I've made for consistency. I had to learn how to animate blocks for this one and even then, I was struggling. But it turned out not bad I would say.

I hope you guys like it, I spend way too much time researching and learning how to animate only to realize I still don't even know how. 😭 I really need some sleep...
